Every day in America, people are being bought and sold as slaves. The majority are young women and children. California Department of Justice reports that 72 percent of identified sex trafficking victims are residents of the United States. The Crime of sex trafficking has increased drastically over the past five years, both globally and in America. Along with its rapid growth rate, human trafficking holds relatively low risk with high profit potential because, unlike drugs, humans can be sold repeatedly. Traffickers often recruit our youth because of their vulnerability and there is also a high market demand for younger victims. Traffickers target victims everywhere, at the mall, through friends, through social media, and wherever children gather.

Pillars of Hope needs your help to combat human trafficking by assisting victims who contact us for help. Examples are travel expenses to restoration facility, immediate shelter costs, food, clothing, and other basic needs.
